What is Dying with Dignity?

As described, Palliative Care is primarily directed to those persons who are terminally ill.  It is also directed to that terminally ill person who has chosen to stop treatment to prolong life,  as in the case of my daughter, Chel, who chose to stop treatment and who in turn died with courage and dignity.  During the last three weeks of her life, many lessons were learned but the main lesson was the comfort, not only in medication but the feeling of trust, love and care.  Our intention is to support the process and atmosphere regarding a terminally-ill person choosing to stop treatment and being able to die at home with dignity.  Our purposes in the area of Palliative Care and Dying with Dignity are:

  • Make available to the public educational material and information concerning the issue of Palliative Care and issues concerning the dying at home with dignity.

  • Questions, concerns, or just to confer with someone who has been through the Palliative Care and the dying at home email:  linda@chelshope.org
